About Me

Born and raised in Detroit and the outlying suburbs, I have been photographing for over 15 years. I currently reside in Ann Arbor and shoot locally in lower Michigan, along with nature, travel and landscape photography as opportunities arise.

Growing up I always pursued a creative outlet and excelled at many of them, drawing especially. However, it was an introductory B&W film photography college course I took on a whim that sparked a life-long interest and passion for the craft. Though much of photographic technology has changed over the past 15 years, so much is still the same, and having a strong base of understanding is vital. I was fortunate to spend my college years photographing during the digital revolution, learning the fundamentals of the “old” way, yet growing and learning on the wave of all the new digital technology available. Since developing that first batch of film and making a print, to the latest in digital photography and computer based “software darkroom” techniques, I enjoy capturing moments in time. And with a static image, I hope to translate much more than just a picture.

My image styles have evolved and refined over the years and have a strong base in journalistic and creative candid style photography. I enjoy photographing all subjects and within the galleries on this site you can view a wide breadth of my work and style.
